Starting or taking over an industrial business isn’t something you can wing. Doing it when no one expected you to is a whole different story. They were the first in their industry, in their families, in their communities, and in their own personal histories. The first to take over the business. The first to raise funds for a factory. The first to establish themselves at the head of a production line, and then in general management. They know all about an entrepreneur’s nerve. But they’ve often added something extra: the ability to move forward without a blueprint, without a safety net, and sometimes without precedent. This series isn’t a story about what it’s like to be a woman in industry. It’s a story of entrepreneurship: raw, concrete, and inspiring.
