Description

There is much talk of AI, autonomous robots and disruptive technologies. Yet part of the innovation in robotics also lies in the reinvention of tried-and-tested technologies: mechanics, sensors, actuators and industrial architectures. This round-table discussion shows how so-called traditional robotics remains a powerful arena for innovation, enabling improved performance, the creation of new applications and a response to the practical needs of manufacturers. By highlighting this often-underestimated technological heritage, the discussion between engineers, manufacturers and researchers shines a light on those who have the creative courage to push further what we believe we have already mastered. An invitation to view traditional robotics not as a static legacy, but as a powerful driver of innovation.
