Some disruptive innovations arrive before their market is ready: there are no obvious customers yet, no established standards, and no buyers willing to take the initial risk. Under these conditions, how can we foster the emergence of deep tech leaders capable of scaling up from the lab? This roundtable will explore the levers that help create the conditions for a market: early customers, government contracts, industrial partnerships, milestone-based financing, investors, technological challenges, and models inspired by DARPA or SprinD.
