Humanoid robots, agent-based AI, full automation: the vision of factories capable of operating with virtually no human intervention is as fascinating as it is thought-provoking. Driven by the need to remain competitive, this industrial revolution appears to be well and truly underway. Yet there are still numerous limitations: technologies that are not yet fully developed, systems that are difficult to interconnect, and the need for human expertise to supervise, maintain and adapt operations. So, what will the industry of tomorrow really look like? What if the most efficient factories were not those that replace humans, but those that reinvent their role?
