Description

For the third year running, Bpifrance has published an observatory measuring the number of industrial startups, their characteristics and fund-raising, as well as industrial site openings. The observatory also tracks site openings by industrial SMEs and ETIs. This third edition illustrates the dynamic that makes innovation a fertile ground for industrialization in France. At the end of 2024, Bpifrance counted more than 3,200 startups with an industrial vocation, the vast majority of which are based outside the Paris region, and employ over 65,000 people. These innovative young companies raised 212 funds worth €2.8 billion in 2024, and inaugurated 38 industrial sites. More mature companies, SMEs and ETIs, have inaugurated 77 sites. In all, 115 industrial sites inaugurated in 2024 by French startups, SMEs and industrial ETIs are listed in the Bpifrance observatory, compared with 118 in 2023 and 76 in 2022.
