The European Commission's strategic role in reindustrialising Europe

Description

Faced with the challenges of technological sovereignty, ecological transition and global competitiveness, the European Commission is playing a central role in the continent's industrial revival. Through the European Innovation Council (EIC), it is deploying an ambitious strategy to create the industrial champions of tomorrow. The EIC acts as an accelerator of disruptive innovation, supporting deeptech start-ups, innovative SMEs and high-potential scale-ups. Its objective: to transform European scientific discoveries into world-class industrial leaders, capable of structuring strategic sectors (energy, health, digital, materials, etc.).

Resume

The European Innovation Council, part of Horizon Europe, supports deep tech startups in Europe by providing grants and equity investments to help them scale up and bring their ideas to the market. The EIC has a strong focus on strategic technologies like AI, semiconductors, quantum computing, and clean tech. It aims to make Europe a leader in critical technologies to prevent intellectual property from moving outside of Europe. The European Commission has proposed doubling the budget for the EIC to continue supporting innovative companies and fostering prosperity in Europe. Ce résumé a été généré par une IA.
