Stefano Buono, CEO of UK nuclear technology company Newcleo, is a successful nuclear physicist and entrepreneur.
He co-founded Newcleo in 2021 after working for 10 years with Nobel laureate Carlo Rubbia at CERN and CRS4, where they focused on accelerator-driven systems and the transmutation of nuclear waste. In 2002, Stefano founded Advanced Accelerator Applications, which was subsequently acquired by Novartis for $3.9 billion. In addition to his role at Newcleo, Stefano is also involved as chairman of various organisations and is the founder of Elysia Capital, his own family office.
