Hidden in the dark underwater, the seabed covers gigantic spaces and remain almost unexplored to this day. There is interest around the possibility of exploiting their mineral riches but there is also the fear of disturbing still unknown ecosystems. life in the seabed has developed surprising characteristics: the little we know of them has already made science advance and helped human uses. This workshop, collaborating with the Ifremer (French Institute of Research for Marine Exploitation), offers discover biologically and chemically the seabed and illustrates how this knowledge can be economically valued, with many examples of technological applications.
