Ecodesigning services is a relatively new approach inspired by the more familiar product eco-design. It is based on the definition of a "Unit of Service Rendered" on one hand, and on a life cycle and appropriate eco-design on the other. However, the aim is the same for products and services: to identify the stages in the life cycle that contribute to the main environmental impacts so we reflect on optimising them.
