Description
Miguel Martínez Gimeno is a partner in the Madrid office of UM. He joined the firm in June 2021, after serving as Secretary of the Board and General Director of the Legal Service of the Spanish Securities and Exchange Commission.
He has been State Lawyer (Abogado del Estado) since 2003, having held various positions, including Head of the Legal Service of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness.
For six years, he served as a legal secretary (référendaire) to the Vice-President of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU). He lectures at various universities and is a member of the European Union Law Section of the Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation.
Miguel specialises in public procurement, particularly in the defence sector. This includes public-private partnerships, negotiations with public authorities and private operators, funding and partnerships and consortia for procurement.
