Description
PICHE is a unique artist in France: singer, dancer, rapper... and drag queen! Of Algerian-Gypsy origin, Mike - his real name - grew up in Arles, in the south of France, before moving to Paris to conquer the world! Early on, he developed a hybrid style combining singing, dancing, rapping and stage performance. It was while fully embracing his art of drag that he decided to push back the boundaries: PICHE was born.
With his twin brother Morgan (aka Raven), a rap aficionado and stranger to the world of drag, they formed a formidable creative duo. Together, they wrote their first urban tracks, blending rap, pop and LGBTQIA+ influences. Their aim: to break codes, open minds and get a new, inclusive generation dancing.
In 2023, PICHE takes part in season 2 of Drag Race France, a social phenomenon. The season becomes the highest-rated of all versions of the format worldwide. PICHE made her mark with her single "Confess", performed live on the show. The track was a runaway success, with over 1.5 million streams and a remarkable entry into the platform charts.
On the strength of this exposure, PICHE follows up with "Oh ma Piche", co-written with her brother Morgan, Tosi A la Prod and the Foxreavers. With influences ranging from Lil Nas X to Marseille's Bande Organisée scene, PICHE continues to blur the lines, establishing herself as a strong queer voice of her generation.
In 2024, PICHE unveiled a highly acclaimed debut EP, Festin, which led to a national tour produced by W Spectacle. From Marseille to Lille, via Paris, Lyon, Toulouse and Strasbourg, PICHE imposes her explosive style on stage, mixing rap, vocals and drag performance, all in an overexcited atmosphere.
Her aura even extends beyond the queer scene: in 2024, PICHE was invited to perform at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games, becoming the first French drag queen to perform at this historic event, broadcast worldwide.
Through her art, PICHE embodies a new generation of French-speaking artists: free, plural and proud. Without ever denying her origins, or her multiple identities, she campaigns for a more open culture, where genre, music and performance merge.
PICHE is not just a drag queen: she's a complete artist, a musical revelation and a committed voice. And this is just the beginning.
