Metz Handball is a French handball club.
Founded in 1965, it is mainly known for its women's section, which has dominated French women's handball since the 1990s, with 23 French championship titles in the 1st division. The club moved to the top of the national hierarchy with a first title in the 1989-1990 season. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, its rivalry with the Besançon club, the other major French women's handball club of this period, is a summit of national women's handball. For several years, the team feeds a large part of the French women's handball team, with major players such as Isabelle Wendling, Leila Lejeune, Nodjialem Myaro, Nina Kanto, Amandine Leynaud, Allison Pineau or Katty Piejos.
The club is located at the Palais Omnisports des Arènes (4500 seats) and is directed by Thierry Weizman.
The men's section, more recent, was a separate club, the Stade messin étudiants club (SMEC), which was closed and integrated into Metz Handball in 2009.
