AfricInvest was founded in Tunis in 1994 and is today among the leading private equity and VC firms in North and Sub-Saharan Africa with c. €1.5 billion of assets under management. With 18 PE funds across four strategies, AfricInvest is sponsored by prestigious DFIs, private and institutional investors from Africa, Asia, Europe and North America. AfricInvest funds have dedicated teams covering the African continent and France for growth capital and LBO transactions related to small, mid and large caps companies, financial sector institutions and VC. AfricInvest has also a dedicated team providing private debt to SMEs in Africa. AfricInvest relies on a team of 75 highly skilled investment professionals, representing 15 nationalities, operating out of ten offices in Abidjan, Algiers, Cairo, Casablanca, Dubai, Lagos, Nairobi, Paris and Port Louis, Tunis (and soon Johannesburg). AfricInvest is a co-founder of the African Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (www.avca-africa.org ), and the Emerging Markets Private Equity Association (www.empea.org ) as well as different PE country and regional associations in Africa and in France. Launched in 2017, French African-Funds are the first cross-border funds dedicated to French Small and Midcap companies which ae willing to invest and expand in Africa. They are managed by AfricInvest Europe, a French incorporated subsidiary of AfricInvest Group regulated by the French Market Authority. The French African-Funds’ strategy is to invest €3m to €10m minority equity tickets in French mid-sized companies with revenues between €15m and €300m and with significant growth potential. A Paris-based French dedicated team is in charge of investing the French African-Funds, which will accompany the portfolio companies in their strategic development in Africa, through the Group’s unparalleled experience in investing in Africa (more than 160 transactions over the past 25 years in 30 African countries), in an effort to help them accelerate their growth and access new African markets. AfricInvest will also facilitate partnerships with the relevant commercial, financial, industrial and technological partners in each local African market. The French African Funds are supported by Bpifrance and count diverse investors’ base comprising French public institutions, French private corporates and institutional investors and African investors, both private and institutional entities.
