Lyon Olympique universitaire rugby, commonly abbreviated to LOU rugby, is the XV rugby section of the Lyon Olympique universitaire omnisports club. The section was founded under the name Racing Club de Lyon in 1896 and became Lyon Olympique universitaire in 1901.
The men's team, created in 1896, is notably double French champion (1932 and 1933). After several round trips between the Top 14 and the Pro D2 in early 2010, the LOU rugby team has been in the Top 14 since the 2016-2017 season.
The club also includes a women's team since 2008, which plays since 2019 in Elite 1.
The LOU Rugby is directed by Yann Roubert and plays at the Matmut Stadium in Gerland.
