Description

Laurens EHRMANN developed a passion for digital creation and special effects at a very early age. After his first experience in 1998 at Animaré, a company that designed video game cutscenes, Laurens worked as an artist and then VFX Supervisor at BUF Compagnie for 10 years. In 2009, he joined the PLUG Visual Effects team, where his creative contributions and technical expertise brought a new dimension to the company. In 2014, PLUG Visual Effects underwent a change and became known as THE YARD. Laurens' filmography includes major feature films such as Alexander the Great, Batman Begins, Harry Potter IV, Silent Hill, City of Ember, Babylon AD, and XMEN First Class. Today, Laurens Ehrmann's international reputation has allowed him to collaborate with his company, THE YARD, on ambitious projects that have received numerous accolades. Some notable projects include Nomad Land by Chloé Zhao, which won three Oscars, Ford v Ferrari, which was shortlisted for an Oscar for Best Visual Effects, The Gray Man, directed by the Russo brothers, which was nominated for the VES Awards, as well as John Wick 4 and Indiana Jones 5. Laurens and THE YARD are also regularly recognized and awarded prizes at the PIDS in Enghien, the French Festival of Special Visual Effects. In 2023, Laurens won the CÉSAR for Best Visual Effects for the film NOTRE DAME BRÛLE, directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud.
