I am a private equity investor. I have been investing in Independent / Family businesses for over 20 years, in transmission situations and buy-and-build projects, mainly cross-border. At Bpifrance, we promote growth, especially internationally, as it strengthens businesses and help them last. I’m in charge of the International Build-up Fund (IBF). At the IBF, we have a unique approach as we invest abroad alongside French independent businesses. We actually become directly minority shareholders of the subsidiary abroad (no dilution of the French company). We co-invest on the long term (5 to 10 years in general), between €3M to €20M, worldwide, in buy-and-build or greenfield projects, until the French companies acquire our stake in their subsidiary (no exit on the market).
