Description
I graduated from the University of Savoie in 2009 with a PhD in the physicochemistry of charged polymer materials. My thesis focused on the development of a multidisciplinary tool for the electrical and mechanical characterization of charged elastomers. This technology was patented in 2008. In 2010, I joined CEA Grenoble to work on the sol-gel process and develop sol-gel monoliths for bacterial infection detection. During my time at CEA, I invented a process to produce 3D glass monoliths with complex, high-resolution structures. This work led to the submission of 6 patents between 2010 and 2012.
Subsequently, I decided to focus on a deeptech start-up project involving the manufacture of bioactive glass matrices using the sol-gel process for biomedical applications. With this in mind, Carroucell was founded in 2016 with the mission to develop and bring to the market a new microcarrier technology for cell culture. This innovation is highly valuable in the emerging cell and gene therapy market.
