Description
Health is a strategic sector and a major contributor to the French economy, contributing 12.3% of GDP. However, the sector’s competitive edge is undermined by lost industrial capacity, a drop in the number of clinical trials, insufficient private seed funding, and the expatriation of talent trained in France. France boasts a particularly rich scientific, academic and industrial ecosystem which attracts international recognition. However, we are still struggling to find leverage for growth to enable national champions compete with low-cost countries such as China and India, or countries with higher added value such as the US, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy.
