Technological advances and the increased emphasis on precision medicine have paved the way for the development of digital pathology. As a result of recent innovations, in some circumstances, invasive and sometimes painful or unpleasant examinations via endoscopy, puncture or surgery can now be replaced by a simple blood test or imaging.
