The traditional production model for live performance has been turned on its head in recent years. Artists are back at the centre of the process, with actors offering production as a service, as opposed to asking producers to invest with the hope of a return on investment. The time artists can devote to their art is limited due to a highly regulated environment. Florian Hanssens, director of SurMesures Productions, talked to us about this change in production models and the artists who are becoming entrepreneurs.
