Umiami is a French foodtech founded in 2020 with the mission of reducing global meat consumption and its impact on health, animals and the environment. We are pioneering the development of a patent-pending process for texturizing plant proteins called "umisation". Thanks to our umisation technology, we can recreate the experience of meat and fish fillets without compromising taste and texture using only 7 to 8 ingredients.
Following the opening of our first pilot innovation center last year, Umiami will inaugurate its first full-scale production plant in October 2023. The 14,000 m2 site is located in Duppigheim, France, close to the German border, and will have a production capacity of 7,500 tonnes per year with one production line. Umiami is now ready to offer its first 100% vegetable chicken fillet to food processing and catering companies.
